TIPS FOR STYLING HIGH WAIST PANTS

In addition to the pieces you can put together with your high waist pants, there are a few tips that you should consider when staying high waist pants. If you’re choosing not to wear a crop top, tucking in your top helps accentuate the high waist and creates a polished look for you. The type of show you wear with your pants is also important. If you’re short like me, wearing heels or platforms further helps elongates your legs and balances the proportions of the outfit. Speaking of proportions, experiment with your proportions. Balance is the key to finding the perfect looks for you. If your pants are on the tight side, your top should be baggier and visa versa.

WITH A CROP TOP

A crop top, in my opinion, is the easiest way to style high waist pants. It also helps you play with the proportions of the look. The beauty of styling high waist pants with crop tops is you can determine the amount of stomach you want to show. A longer crop top will show just a sliver, while a shorter top (think bralette) will show more.

WITH A TUCKED IN SHIRT

For those who are still not on board with the crop top trend, tucking in your top is another easy way to style high waist pants. Tucking in your top is a great way to show off your waist if you have an hourglass shape. Even if you don’t, tucking your top with your high waist pants helps create the illusion of an hourglass shape.

WITH A BLAZER

Again, this is another way to play with proportions. Adding a blazer is easy when you think your outfit is missing something. It can be a color pop or a neutral item for your look. While I’ve worn long line blazers with my high waist pants, don’t be afraid to a cropped blazer to complete the look.
