Brown is a color that I don’t style too often. Mostly because I don’t own a lot of brown since it just feels so plain to me. When I discovered the new to me brand JLuxLabel, and bought the Deyvn pants in just about every color, I had to rethink the color brown. I initially bought them because they were a neutral color – and we know why I’m trying to increase that in my closet – but when I put them on, I couldn’t really figure out how to style them without it feeling like it’s not me. so, let’s talk about styling brown pants because, to my discovery, it’s actually easier than you think.

STYLING BROWN PANTS WITH LAVENDER
This color combination is something that I didn’t know I needed. Over the summer, I spotted this lavender coat on Asos and knew I just had to have it. I envisioned so many ways to style it but never thought of styling it with brown pants until I just threw it on to try color combinations. And it just worked.
Obviously, it worked because brown is a neutral color which means it will literally go with everything. I learned through this process that I had a bias against the color brown, which is why I thought it would not be easy to style.
Beacuse the coat is oversized, a fitted top like this t-shirt I have one works to pull the entire look together. It also helps create proportions so the look isn’t overshadowed by the coat.
PAIR WITH OTHER NEUTRALS
If you take away the lavender coat, this outfit still works because you can’t go wrong with pairing neutrals together. If you’re uncomfortable with the color combinations, swapping this coat with navy or the same brown shade would work just fine.
