Spring weather is so unpredictable in Cincinnati. Today it could be raining all day, tomorrow 75 degrees, and the next snow. Sometimes that happens all in one day. All this to say that you need to keep a jacket that can keep you warm and looking fabulous. My leather jacket (as pictured) is falling apart and it’s time for a new one that will be a staple and last me a long time.

WHY YOU NEED A LEATHER JACKET
I’ve shared this before, but a leather jacket is a staple that you need in your wardrobe because it’s timeless. It can also be worn year around especially during those transition periods of spring and fall. The beauty of this jacket is it can be worn dressed up or down. Wearing a dress or skirt to work or a formal occasion? Add a leather jacket. Wearing jeans and a T-shirt? Add a leather jacket. Because it’s a staple, I’m willing to spend a little more because it will last me a long time in all seasons. Let’s get into some of the jackets currently on my wishlist as I figure out which one to get next.

MOTO JACKET

A moto leather jacket is inspired by the classic biker jacket. It is characterized by its asymmetrical zip front, notched collar, and studs or metal hardware details. This is the type of jacket that I usually buy and honestly prefer. Beacuse of it’s biker look, it’s a great contrast with many of my more feminine looks.

As we all know, fashion is cyclical. I remember my mom’s old leather blazer that she used to wear all the time. I love the updated version of the new blazer. A leather blazer jacket combines the classic style of a blazer with the durability and edginess of leather. It typically features the same design elements as a traditional blazer, including a structured shape, lapels, and a button front.
SUEDE MOTO JACKET

A suede moto jacket combines the classic style of a moto jacket with the soft, luxurious texture of suede. It is similar in style to a leather moto jacket, with an asymmetrical zip front, notched collar, and metal hardware details. I mean who doesn’t love suede?

So this is more of a fall item but I can’t hurt to pick on up right now. A leather trench jacket combines the classic style of a trench coat with the durability and edginess of leather. It is typically knee-length or longer, with a double-breasted front, wide lapels, and a belted waist.
LEATHER SHEARLING

A leather shearling jacket, also known as a sheepskin jacket or aviator jacket, is made from leather on the outside and lined with shearling on the inside. OKay, I know it’s not that cold for a jacket like this. But since spring it’s here, it’s best to buy winter clothes now while it’s on sale. Ever since I saw Signed Blake with hers, I just knew I had to grab one.
