WINTER WHITE: HOW TO WEAR WHITE IN WINTER

Can I just say that it felt great to put on real clothes in one of my favorite places to shoot in Cincinnati (Eden Park)?! So, I recognize that we are all still not ready to put on real clothes because COVID is still here and most of us are still stuck working from home. Plus with all the cold weather, all you want to do is wear warm sweats and sweaters. But I’ve made a decision to continue to share outfits on the blog because it affords me at least a few days out of the month to put on real clothes. Trust me, the posts about sweats is coming so just indulge me for now.

Wearing all white in winter just makes me feel alive (I’m a rule breaker/wear whatever you want when you want type of gal). The crisp of winter with an all white look also makes be look a lot more put together than I often feel. While I am definitely always nervous whenever I wear all white (hello clumsiness), I love the pulls together look of an all white look. I must admit, this was the first time in a while that I’ve worn anything white and not drop anything, including my lipstick!

The key to successfully wearing white in winter is adding other neutrals to look (i.e., tans, greys, blacks). Like you see here, the grey vest and black boots balance out the white in case you’re not quite ready to pull a truly all-white look – basically, the other neutrals help break up the white. Although I not quite ready for a head-to-toe all-white look, this outfit works perfectly for me. One day, I’ll figure out my clumsiness and pull of a completely all-white look.

OUTFIT DETAILS

These were my first Madewell jeans purchase, and they definitely didn’t disappoint. It was on super sale, I got them for $19.97 (originally $135). I’ve always been a fan of high waist jeans, and Madewell jeans truly live up to their name. Because these were my first pair, I goto a size 29 for these jeans. They fit fine, but I definitely have extra space that I don’t necessarily care for. I will definitely get a 28, possibly 27, the next pair I get. I’m all about maximizing my wardrobe and have previously styled this vest on the blog before.
