So, 2020 was…interesting. Aside from staying in the house most of the year, I made lots of Amazon purchases — but what else is new?? Many were misses but I had quite a few hits! Now, I know we’re not okay with the ridiculous amount of money that Jeff Bezos made and the horrible conditions that his workers had to endure during the pandemic, hell even prior to the pandemic. I am trying to wean myself off of Amazon and find more ethical places to shop. But I’m human and that 2-day free shipping is truly addicting so bear with me.

MOUTHGUARD
This was a serious game changer for me. I didn’t realize how much my night grinding contributed to my lack of sleep and migraines during the day. My grinding gets really bad when I’m stressed or anxious about something. So imagine how much worse it got when the pandemic hit? When I bought this mouth guard, my entire life changed. Literally. I never knew that I could wake up the next day without my mouth being sore or with a massive headache. I highly recommend purchasing this item if you have trouble with nighttime grinding.
LAPTOP DESK
The thing I’ve been trying to purchase but finally made the plunge when we hit the pandemic. My laptop desk was my saving grace when I lived with my aunt and uncle. Even though I haven’t used it that much since I moved, I know that I will use it as I continue to get my place in order.
CELL PHONE STAND
Literally don’t know what I was doing before I got a cell phone stand. I have no idea how my life was functioning before I bought a phone stand. This is perfect because it’s large enough to hold my iPhone and iPad — not at the same time obviously. My favorite thing about this stand is the fact that you can lower and raise the base as well as change the angle of the stand.
FACIAL BRUSH APPLICATOR
This was a purchase that was influenced by Leslie. I had been using a flat foundation brush to apply my face masks prior to discovering these brushes. It comes in a 4 pack so I can dedicate one to my activated charcoal masks and have more to use for my other masks.
MEMORY CARDHOLDER
I am always losing memory cards. This case has solved all my problems. I have no idea why it took me so long to buy this. Maybe because I didn’t realize that this was a thing that existed until I stumbled upon it when I was buying more memory cards for my camera. Whatever the reason, I’m happy that I made it here and it makes me feel like a real adult. If you are trying to get on the responsible adult train like me, purchase this case. You’ll thank me later.
SLEEP MASK
While it’s super easy for me to fall asleep, I need complete darkness to have a goodnight and stay asleep. Over the years, I’ve had face masks that temporarily did the job. Meaning they never stayed on my face throughout the entire night or they end up tearing up over time. Whatever the reason, the face masks I’ve had never lasted me more than 3 months. I found this sleep mask that changed the game for me. After reading the many reviews, I decided to make the purchase. Best. Decision. Ever. For the first time in a long time, this sleep mask stayed on the entire night the first time I wore it. Thinking it was a fluke, I tried it again and slept like a baby.
BLACK DRESS
I literally wore this dress out all summer. It’s the best clothing purchase I made during the pandemic. Even though most of my quarantine days were spent in sweats, the dress was an easy way for me to look put together without trying.
SELFIE RING LIGHT
I swear everything that I didn’t know that I needed until you find it on Amazon has literally been the best finds on Amazon. Game changers for all those zoom meetings that you have throughout the day. The selfie ring light comes with three light settings – warm, cool, and a combo of both – and its rechargeable.
BONUS – BIDET
So, this wasn’t a personal purchase but wanted to share how wonderful this is. My friend, Priscilla, sent it to me as a housewarming gift for my new apartment. Funny story – I forgot that she was sending me something and when I opened up the box, my mind went instantly to some senior that ordered a toilet seat cover, and it got shipped to me. It wasn’t until I read the title on the box that it hit me that it was a bidet! Lol. It’s why reading is fundamental folks! I’ve always loved bidets and now I have the luxury of having on in my home. You too can have the freshest butt on the block with this easy-to-install, bidet (infomercial anyone?).
