WHAT I WEAR WHEN I’M IN A STYLE RUT

Typically around this time of year, is when I start to get into a rut with what I wear because I’m over Winter and itching to go outside without having to put on fifty ‘leven layers. But it’s even more exaggerated this year because this month marks 1 year since we’ve been stuck in the house due to COVID. I don’t know about you but I’m tired of talking to myself, tired of little to no human interaction without the internet, and mostly, I’m tired of looking like who did it and why! So, I decided to talk about what I reach for when I’m in a style rut.

When I’m in a style rut, I typically reach for something colorful. Since spring likes to take its time to get here, and it’s typically grey most days, I’m always itching for more colorful looks. So I tend to combine bright, colorful combos like yellow and orange. The one difference that the pandemic has had on my wardrobe is the incorporation of sweats! I added a sweatshirt that I typically reserve for home because I loved the way the orange and yellow popped. To balance the look, I added my favorite pair of black pants that has enough stretch that I can bend and snap (double points for whoever gets that reference). So, in a nutshell, the thing to get me out of my style rut is a classic silhouette with bright color combos. Don’t be surprised when you see bright color combinations over the next few weeks because I’m literally willing spring to get here.
