MY GO TO WINTER OUTFIT

Tom Brady won the Super Bowl, again. Now I will always give credit where credit is due. Clearly, Tom Brady is one of the best quarterbacks that the NFL has seen. However, still doesn’t mean I like him. So even though I was rooting for the Chiefs, congrats to another Super Bowl win. Now that that’s outta the way, let’s get to the point of today’s post. Again, I recognize that we’re still in a pandemic and many of us aren’t wearing real clothes. However, I’ve been tired of wearing sweats – call it sweats fatigue – and been trying to wear, at least once a week, real clothes. Today, I decided to talk about my go to winter outfit with or without a pandemic.

I love pleated skirts! They are so versatile and can be worn year-round. I especially love wearing them in the winter months because of the different types of boots that you can wear with them – hence why they are included in my go to winter outfit. The main reason I love midis so much is because of the movement of the pleated skirt, it makes me feel like Beyonce with her wind fan. Anyways, so the anatomy of my go to winter outfit is a skirt – preferrable midi and pleated – with a sweater, cute but warm coat, and equally cute boots. On those especially cold days, I add tights for warmth with the possibility of over the knee boots. If you’ve never worn a midi skirt in the winter because you thought it was too cold to, just add a bunch of layers and go about your day.

OUTFIT DETAILS

Let’s get into these boots! First of all, I love that the lace details which make it super easy to switch out to match – or not – your outfit. I will say, though, that the heel is a lot higher than I was expecting. That is definitely my fault because I didn’t read the description. But I love them so much so I decided to keep them. Plus, my short self loves being taller than I actually am. I’ve worn this skirt on the blog before and have incorporated several ways over the years in real life. This skirt was an excellent purchase because I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth.
