This Black History Month was wild cause some of y’all decided to show your behind to the world. But I’m still Black so these headlines can’t steal my joy. Let’s get into some of the highlights for February.

01. SUPER BOWL

Watching the shenanigans on the Super Bowl especially the censorship of the lyrics during the halftime show reminded me why I stopped watching NFL football for the last few years. Still not over how they treated Kapernick and recent news continues to show that the NFL ain’t it for me. I’m not a Bengals fan but I was rooting for them because I was peer pressured to. 🥴 The game wasn’t as exciting as I’d hoped it’d be – literally ended up reading to pass the time – and the outcome was what I predicted it would be. Sorry Cincy fans. But a few good things came from me partially watching the game: I learned that the Bengal’s defense is really good. It’s honestly the reason LA didn’t run up that score and kept the Bengals in the game. And I’m really excited about the new Doctor Strange movie, that trailer was everything! Also, that halftime show was everything – censored lyrics aside – it reminded me of my childhood for sure.

02. CINCY COCOA BLOGGERS FEATURE

I’ve said it before and I’ll continue to say it, I really am touched when folks reach out to me to highlight me or for me to collab. It’s truly an honor that people value what I have to say and want to share that with their audience. I had the pleasure to write a guest post for the Cincy Cocoa Bloggers this month and you should definitely take a read especially if you consider yourself color adverse. I’ve met up several times with some of the Cincy Cocoa Bloggers I’ve met since I moved back and they are a lovely group of Black women that you should be following if you are not.
