#CURRENTLYCANCAN VOL 35

September felt like a whirlwind. I looked up and realized that next week is October! How did we get here?! This is partially because I have a client who monopolizes my evenings and weekends, so all the days are starting to run together. I just realized that it’s the end of the month. So, let’s get into the shenanigans of September.

01. MIAMI BAYBEE

My last big trip of the year was in Miami. The last time I was in Miami was spring break, my senior year of college. I’m glad I got to experience that city again as an adult with a job because I have no idea how I afforded Miami during college. It was a girl’s trip, so we could relax and not have to rush and do everything. I could lay at the beach and read a couple of books, but the highlight of the trip was all the delicious seafood we could eat. Anytime I go anywhere near water, I have to eat all the fish, oysters, lobster, etc., that I can.

02. DORESE IS GONE

I can’t believe that those words are real. Dorese was the first photographer I worked with when I moved back to Cincinnati. I loved working with her because she made shooting fun and was good at making sense of my visions whenever I wanted to try something new. Some of my all-time favorite blog photos are from her! We shot 30 Days of African Prints together. A vision that finally became reality in 2021. While I’m happy for her and her new adventure in a new state, I’m really sad to see her go.

03. ANOTHER MINI REUNION

My friend Amanda got married this month and her wedding turned into a mini UCCI reunion. The last time I saw some of these folks was at Dr. Latessa’s memorial. It was a great time because we were together for a joyous celebration and I got to reconnect with some people I enjoyed hanging out with. It was another bright spot this month.

04. SEPTEMBER FAVORITE

The snack that I didn’t know I needed. My obsession this month has been seaweed. I randomly bought it with my Amazon Fresh delivery because I needed something under $3 to reduce my delivery fee. I stumbled on this item and have not regretted it since. It’s a lightly salted snack that is the perfect pick me up between meals.
