#CURRENTLYCANCAN VOL 3

Hey, y’all! School has started which means this will be the last currently CanCan that will include books that I’m reading for leisure. I’m not sure what I will include but I will definitely keep doing this post every month because I like talking about what’s happening with me currently.

READING

I finished reading The Turner House by Angel Flournoy. I really enjoyed the book! It focused on the members of the Turner family, started by Francis and Viola Turner and encompasses 13 children. The great thing about the book is each chapter focuses on the voice of a different family member. It’s impeccable how Flournoy is able to capture the unique voice in each character and explains their innermost feelings for everything that occurred at that particular moment.

WEARING

I can’t stop wearing white t-shirts. Really. I just love the look of a crisp, white t-shirt. The beauty of a white t-shirt is the fact that it is perfect for all occasions. I love the unexpected, pulled-together look for work or all the way on the other end of the spectrum with jeans and a white tee look. Whatever your preference, you can never go wrong with a white t-shirt.

Kimonos are the best thing ever! Seriously. I don’t know why I waited for so long to add them to my closet. I have literally worn the two that I own so much that I’m starting to be recognized by my neighbors as the girl with the kimonos. Well, if loving kimonos are wrong, I don’t want to be right!

I was so against the mule trend when it came back with a vengeance a couple of seasons ago. Fashion is cyclical and sometimes some trends just don’t need to return *coughs* fanny packs *coughs*. I definitely changed my tune about mules because they look so much better than they did in the 90s/early 2000s. Now,  I can’t get enough of them! I scored a couple on super sale from Target and I am very happy with my purchase. My favorites are the tasseled number in the image below.

WATCHING

The Office. I watched the office while it was on television and again soon after it ended. It’s been several years and I am rewatching it before school starts. I completely forgot how funny this show is! I have been cackling every day at the sheer comedic genius that the writers, producers, and actors portray. I have to say Dwight Schrute is still my favorite character.
