Hey, y’all! I am planning to incorporate this new segment on my blog where I talk about the things I’m currently doing. These posts will probably go live once a month until I finish stuff more frequently. This segment will cover all the things that I am loving, trying, or wanting to do again. So without further ado, welcome to the first installment of #CurrentlyCanCan.

I love reading! Since childhood, my parents always encouraged me to read and I loved to do it! The BookIT competition- where you read a certain amount of books and you would win a free pizza from Pizza Hut- was high on my list every week and I would win a lot of free pizzas!

Since returning to school, it’s been hard to read for pleasure when I’m reading dense articles and books that I have to do for class. Because I am not taking classes this summer, I am trying to read all of the books that have been sitting on my bookshelf for the past couple of months (years even)!

In my return to reading, I picked up I‘m Judging You by Luvvie Ajayi. I have been following Luvvie online for a while now and she is so funny! I expected nothing less from her book! It’s basically a “we need to do better manual” that helps us navigate through this new technology-filled world. If you’re looking for an easy, funny read, definitely check out this book!

Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson is the book that I am currently reading. I’m almost done with this book and it’s so good! It’s infuriating, frustrating, and eye-opening about all the things wrong with the criminal justice system in America. This book reaffirmed for me why I decided to go back to school. I believe everyone should read this book.

BEAUTY

As you know, The Body Shop is my favorite obsession when it comes to lotions. I actually have found my scent of the summer. It’s the Almond Milk and Honey scent. The Almond Milk and Honey is different from the others because the consistency is not as thick but it still is very moisturizing.

ColorPop highlighter in Avalon. Listen. The price and the way it looks on my face makes it worth it! I picked it up randomly at Ulta a while ago and it’s been a go-to highlighter for the summer as my complexion gets a little darker. I also love the consistency of the highlighter. It feels so luxurious; I typically use my fingers when applying it to my cheeks.

Another beauty item that I am currently loving is the Dose of Colour liquid matte in Berry Me 2. I have literally been wearing this all of the time! I’ve been wanting to try this brand for a while and finally got my hands on it. I’ve literally been wearing it every day since I got it!

Anyways, even with all of my rantings, that’s what I’ve been reading and using currently. Hope you enjoyed it!
