BEAUTY REVIEW: I TRIED 4 NEW PRODUCTS

I’ve said, a lot, that I’m relatively new to the beauty game when I shared all the products I use as well as my morning and nighttime skincare routines. While I’ve pretty much solidified the products that I absolutely love, I’m always up for trying new products. So, I wanted to bring you on the journey and every so often, share the new products I’m trying and share my thoughts and reactions about how my skin reacts to the new products.

GOOD MOLECUES HYALURONIC ACID

I learned about Good Molecules from Beauty in Color. It’s an affordable skincare brand with tons of great reviews on all of their products. I’ve been wanting to incorporate hyaluronic acid into my nighttime skin routine. I already use this hyaluronic acid but wanted to break up all of The Ordinary products I already use at night. So, when I learned about Good Molecules, I decided to try their Hyaluronic Acid Serum. Good Molecules Hyaluronic Acid boasts that “with just one use, skin appears smooth, supple, and well-hydrated.” that The lightweight, water-based formula layers seamlessly under skincare and makeup, making it ideal for daily use.

Initially, the first thing and main difference I noticed between Good Molecules and The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 is the consistency. The Ordinary’s hyaluronic acid is a thicker consistency than Good Molecules. While I’m still undecided if I care for the thinner consistency, I’ve not had any major qualms about the product. I will say that the consistency makes it easier to layer the other products that I use. Also, because it is thinner, I find myself using more than needed. But I chalk that up to user error. Lol

Getting into the product on my skin. I’ve been using Good Molecules for over a month now and I’ve had no noticeable skin issues or irritations. My skin also feels no less hydrated than when I use The Ordinary. So, all in all, this was a good product to incorporate into my routine and to help me break up all the Ordinary products that I have in my arsenal. Plus it’s a great product for only $6!! Don’t be surprised if you see more products from Good Molecules added in the near future.

GOOD MOLECULES CAFFEINE ENERGIZING HYDROGEL EYE PATCHES

I bought the Caffeine Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches at the same time that I bought their Hyaluronic Acid Serum. I’m completely new to the undereye arena. Honestly didn’t know where to start. I don’t have a ton of undereye issues. When I don’t get a lot of sleep, my undereye area gets puffy but, tbh, it’s not all that noticeable to most people. I’m super grateful – and don’t take lightly – for being blessed with good skin. So, not knowing where to begin, I decided to search for serums that target puffiness. The first product that I’ve used is the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Intensive Hydrating Roll-on Eye Serum. While I’ll probably keep using it, I wanted to try some eye patches. In comes Good Molecules.

The eye patches can be used both morning and night however I’ve only been using them at night because that’s when I typically put on all my masks. Though I will use in the mornings when I notice puffiness or if I have the extra 10-15 minutes to add in my “get ready” routine. Good Molecules boasts that the eye patches “work to brighten, hydrate, and reduce puffiness around the eyes in just 10 minutes.” So do they work? Let’s find out!

First, I love that it comes with a spatula that makes it easy for you to remove the masks and apply it to your face. Though, the first night, I accidentally picked up two for one eye. Again, user error. I’ve also used this product for over a month and had no issues or breakouts from the product. I will say that the product works. I noticed, immediately after removing the masks, a difference in my skin. My undereyes aren’t as puffy as they were before I take off the masks. And of course, after multiple chances, I didn’t capture the images of this. But I also noticed a firming of my undereye area. I definitely recommend trying this product out. It’s only $18 for a set of 30 patches (a total of 60 patches)!

GONE SKIN TREATMENT FOR MELANIN

The owner of this company, who is also a Black woman, reached out to me on Instagram about trying out her product. I definitely jumped at this opportunity to support a Black-owned business and try a new, natural skincare product. Now, before we get into the product, I want to preference this with, I don’t have an issue with acne, very rarely do I get blemishes on my skin, and I don’t have a ton of ingrown hairs. I’ve only used this product once, more on that later. I have intentionally been trying to get some blemishes, to no avail, so I could use this product again. Le sigh. Okay, let’s get into it!

Gone Skin Treatment for Melanin is a treatment for ingrown hair and acne. Specifically, it dries blemishes and helps eliminate dark marks caused by hyperpigmentation. It’s recommended that the best time to use the product is after warming. The product also boasts a 24-hour result time. Does this work? Well, let’s talk about it. As I stated above, I’ve only used it once. As soon as a noticed a pimple on the right side of my face, I pulled out Gone and applied it. I kid you not, the next day it was gone!! And I didn’t even warm up the product! Of course, I didn’t take a picture here either. I’m a bad blogger. Lol I’ve been waiting to try it again but haven’t had any blemishes show up. So, I’ll keep you updated if anything changes.

But based on what the products says it delivers, I highly recommend you to purchase it. It worked, quickly I might add, without me using the product to the best of its ability. Also, it’s a Black-owned business so you should definitely support!

CAUDALIE GRAPE WATER SOOTHING ORGANIC FACE MIST

I’ve raved about the Pearlessence Facial Mist that I’ve been using for a long time now. When my last bottle was almost done, I wanted to try the Caudalie Grape Water mist that everyone has raved about everywhere on the internet. I bought the 2.5 ounces to try it out in case my skin had a negative reaction. Caudalie is extracted from organic grapes during the grapevine harvest, Grape Water has become a Caudalie cult favorite due to its powerful multitasking properties. Made from 100% organic plant water, this gentle mist moisturizes, soothes, and refreshes the skin, whilst also reducing sensitivity. So let’s talk about my thoughts about this product.

First, this product has no scent. I haven’t really decided if this is a good thing or not. Lol. Pearlessence had a light, but subtle rose scent so I was expecting a grape scent because I have no idea what a grape smells like. Lol. Secondly, I absolutely love that the nozzle makes the product come out in a mist. That’s not the case with Pearlessence – it comes out in a stream-like mist. Finally, while my face is still hydrated and soft with this product, it doesn’t make my skin feel super soft to the touch like Pearlessence.

Once you’ve seen the Promised Land, it’s had to go anywhere else.

Will I buy this again? Probably not. Does my skin love it? Absolutely, but not as much as Pearlessence. It’s great to know that there’s another facial mist that I can have in my arsenal if Pearlessence ever changes its formula or sells out.
