Summer is summering which means it’s hot and humid. It also means I have three essential products that I need to get me through summer. One thing I don’t play about is being funky and sunscreen. So have gotten me through most summers. While I don’t have many plans to leave my house this summer (read: outside is expensive and I don’t play with 90+ degree weather), these 3 items are always clutch okay? So, here are the 3 summer products that make me enjoy summer a little more.

LUME
I’ve been using Lume for a few years and honestly understand the hype. When I first researched the product, all the reviews I saw raved about how wonderful it is. I sweat in my lower back and boobs which causes me to be funky when I sweat and don’t immediately take a shower.
I wanted to find a product that would be sensitive enough to wear in these areas but also have me smell good. Lume is that girl. It’s a natural deodorant created by an OBGYN. While I don’t use it under my arms, I use it for all other areas of my body and it keeps the mustiness at bay.
SUNSCREEN
This is a no-brainer. The sun stays out longer during the summer, so wearing sunscreen is necessary. I mean, you should be wearing sunscreen year-round, the sun still shines in the winter. And that doesn’t mean just applying once, you should be reapplying every 2 hours even if you don’t leave your house.
My current rotation of sunscreens includes Black Girl Sunscreen and Supergoop. I absolutely love both of these products and the fact that they go on without the grey tint that I hate about sunscreens is perfection (If you’re looking for more options of sunscreens that don’t leave a grey tint, I created a Black girl friendly post here). They also don’t have that icky sunscreen smell. My favorite reapplying sunscreen is Supergoop’s (Re)Setting Refreshing Mist. It sprays on which is great if you’re wearing makeup.
MEGABABE THIGH RESCUE
When I say this is a game changer, I mean it. I had no idea what I was doing before I discovered this product. My thighs have touched when I walk most of my life (thick thighs save lives). So chafing occurs whenever I wear anything that’s not pants, especially in the summer.
Megababe has been everything to me. I even put a few of my friends on it who also rave about this product. I always keep one in my bag in case I forget to put some on before leaving the house.
