OLE HENRIKSEN TRANSFORMING WALNUT SCRUB
The Transforming Walnut Scrub is the first beauty product splurge that I made last year. It’s a splurge because it’s more than what I typically spend on beauty products ($28), which is under $20. I typically prefer facial scrubs that have rougher consistency and the scrub I was using at the time was not the consistency I liked. When the lady at Sephora told me about all the benefits for the walnut scrub, I was sold.
I really love this scrub because it makes my skin feel so smooth and it doesn’t feel like the scrub is stripping my face of everything that was there before. Scents are something that I’m very into with beauty products. This, however, does not have a noticeable smell which is good.
It also lasts me a while. I’m only on my second bottle of this product. My first bottle was opened in October 2018 and I just opened the second container in February. So, a little goes a long way because the scrubbing beads are thicker and rougher. Contributing to the longevity of the product is the fact that I typically don’t exfoliate my skin every day. I do it 2-3 times a week because of my sensitive, dry skin.
THAYER’S WITCH HAZEL ROSE PETAL
Thayer’s toner is the only toner that I have continued to purchase since I started my skincare journey in October of 2017. I’ve tried a couple of others but this is by far the best I’ve used in my short tenure of facial care. The smell is wonderful but it’s also not overwhelming; it’s the perfect hint of rose petal. Secondly, this product is alcohol-free, which is good for your skin.
It took me so long to begin using witch hazel because I thought it was the same thing as rubbing alcohol. So glad that Google (my best friend) helped me out with explaining the difference.
REVEAL ME BODY EXFOLIANT
The reveal me exfoliant is a purchase that I was talked into at the counter when I was checking out. I typically don’t fall for the sweet talk of people trying to make me buy products that I don’t need. I’m so glad that I fell for her tricks. I have reduced the number of ingrown hairs and razor bumps that I’ve experienced and it’s been such a game-changer.
THE BODY SHOP BODY BUTTER IN COCONUT
The Body Shop’s Body Butters are all that I’ve used in the last 2 years and I don’t think I’ll be using anything else. Let me tell y’all about the goodness of this body butter. They really aren’t lying when they say it’s 48 hours of moisture. I typically shower in the mornings after my workout and immediately put lotion on. Can I tell you that I STILL feel moisturized the next morning when I’m heading to the gym?!
Another great thing about this lotion is I don’t typically pay full price for it. Nope. I usually pick them up when I see them at Marshall or TJ Maxx or whenever The Body Shop is having their $10 sale.
PEARLESSENCE ROSE WATER HYDRATING FACE MIST
I clearly have a thing for rose water. The Pearlessence face mist is something that I discovered at TJ Maxx (typically $5.99 or $6.99) and it’s something that I will never stop using. I had been reading about the benefits of incorporating a facial mist into your routine and I am happy that I’ve made that addition. Since I’ve been incorporating this product into my routine, my face has felt so hydrated.
