WHAT TO WEAR TO HAPPY HOUR THIS SUMMER

Next week is the official start of summer but the current temps make you think it started last week! Since getting vaccinated and warmer weather is here, I’m excited to safely be out and about this summer. I don’t know about you, but the one thing that I really missed since the pandemic started is the ability to go to happy hour. Especially being back in Cincinnati where everything is significantly cheaper than DC and your money can go a lot further during happy hour.

Every time I leave the house, I’m stunned by how much the area has changed, especially Covington. When I lived here previously, I rarely ventured to Covington. Dorese suggested Hotel Covington for this shoot and it definitely didn’t disappoint.

This, new to me, hotel has a really great vibe. The lobby is a huge space for you to spread out and enjoy your time at the bar. There’s also an outdoor space right behind the bar that’s great to capture the perfect Instagram picture.

Their happy hour prices are bad either. I only had one drink, for the purposes of the shoot :), and it was $4!! I can’t remember the last time I paid $4 for a Gin and Tonic during happy hour!! If you’re looking for a spot to hang out this summer, I highly recommend Hotel Covington. You won’t be disappointed.

Moving away from my newfound love for cheaper happy hour prices, y’all know I love wearing color year-round. But I feel like my spring and summer wardrobe is always bursting full of all the brightest colors. Yellow is one of my favorite colors so when I saw this dress at Target, I knew I had to add it to my closet. This was the perfect compliment for the atmosphere of the hotel. It’s also a great dress to through on for those cooler summer evenings when you’re heading to happy hour. Since I’m still working from home, having a cute and easy dress to throw on before I head out the door. Target has some great colorful, and affordable, dresses that fit these criteria for me.
