SCHUTZ ZHARA BOOTIE REVIEW

I’ve had the Schutz Zhara Bootie for two years now, and I think I have enough wear to provide my honest review of them. I bought them because combat boots were back in season, and I loved this new take on them. The shoelaces drew me in because I figured I could change them with other colors whenever I wanted. This was also my first Schutz purchase, so I wanted to know if this was a good company to buy shoes from. So let’s get into the review.

SCHUTZ ZHARA BOOTIE SIZING

I am a size 9 in most shoes, so I thought it was a safe bet to be a 9 in these booties. These boots are true to size and have no issues with pinching in the toes. I will say that while the boots fit, it’s a little difficult to put on and take off. I think it might be due to the heel on the bootie, but I have to use both hands and a lot of effort to put each shoe on. This makes quick changes for blog photos a little cumbersome.

ZHARA BOOTIE COMFORT

I reached for these booties because I hadn’t worn heels during the pandemic and knew if I was going to buy my first new pair, it had to have a block heel. It provides more stability and ease when walking. This is all true. However, the zhara bootie is not the comfiest pair of heels I own. I stumbled across something on Pinterest explaining whether your high heels will be comfortable. The more space you have between the end of the exterior sole and heel, the more comfortable the show will be. This is less than 3cm on this bootie. For me, I can’t stand in these booties for more than an hour, and I can’t do a lot of walk in them without discomfort. These shoes are basically for show.

STYLE

These booties give me the extra height that I crave. With a 4.2in heel inch, I stand roughly at 5’8 which makes my heart sing. The booties come with an extra pair of black laces, but I purchased a box of colorful laces from Amazon and swap it out whenever I want to add more pizzazz to my look (see here). FINAL VERDICT

While the booties are beautiful, well crafted, and versatile for the season, they are a little too uncomfortable to wear all the time. While others might find it more comfortable, I think my wearing uncomfortable shoes to look cute days are over. Am I still going to wear them? Yes, because I paid money for them. But don’t be surprised if you see me sitting more than standing when I do.
