#CURRENTLYCANCAN VOL 24

September felt like it dragged on a bit for me. The weather also decided to drop drastically – 97 to 60 overnight, literally – at the end of the month. I’m still on an unprompted social media hiatus, and I don’t hate it. Maybe October is the month I’ll get back to it? Who knows. One thing I do know, I’m ready for everything that the rest of the year has for me. Let’s get into what my September looked like.

01. OLD AGE IS THAT YOU?

I had a really great run, one of the best runs in a while, to be honest, the first week of September. Later that evening, I put together my new desk. That night, I barely slept because my hip and knee were in excruciating pain. I went to visit the doctor, and she said I was overdoing it. Le sigh. What happened to the days when I could do all the things, and my body wouldn’t punish me for it? Is this was aging feels like? How can I slow this down and regain all the energy I had when I was 6? After a week of rest from running, as recommended by my doctor, I attempted to run again and my hip said, Nah sis, have a seat. So, I’ll be focusing on strength training and pilates for the next few months and try running again in November.

02. I REALLY DISLIKE OLITZ

I don’t know why I decided to rewatch Scandal. The back and forth with Olivia and Fitz is really annoying. I also really don’t like Fitz. He’s everything Papa Pope called him. It gives me life and so much joy whenever Papa Pope reads him for filth. I remember why I always wanted Olivia to be with Jake. It’s so bad that I can’t watch a scene with Fitz and Olivia, I fast forward. Don’t ask me why I keep torturing myself.

03. PREPARE TO BE SICCA ME

I found my new staple protective style and just prepare to be sick of me. A new tutorial will be coming next month on how I achieve these short, twists. Let me tell you, it’s super easy. It doesn’t take me too long, and I love how they look on me – I have gotten so many compliments since putting them in my hair. I’ll be wearing them until the wheels fall off.

04. REFORMER PILATES IS NO JOKE

I started reformer pilates this month since running is not happening for me right now. If you ever need to be humbled about how weak your core actually is, take a reformer pilates class. You’re probably wondering what’s the difference between this and regular pilates and the main difference is where you’re doing it. Pilates is done on a mat while you’re using a reformer for reformer pilates. I literally want to die during and after each session. But I know that in the end, it’ll be good for me. Until then, I’ll continue to be humbled in each class.
