#CURRENTLYCANCAN VOL 36

This month has been extremely busy for me. My evenings and weekends are no longer my own and it’s wearing me out. I’m grateful that all that will begin to slow down soon so I can find some solace again in my routine. Until then, I will try to find small joys until I the busyness has slowed down. Let’s get into what my October looked like.

01. GALA SEASON

Every Saturday this month, I attended a gala or some formal event. Now that I’ve made it so close to November, I’m grateful that I had enough formal wear in my closet that I didn’t need to purchase anything. But also the question remains: why did everyone choose the month of October to put all their things? 12 months outta the year and this is the month everyone does everything? It makes for a busy October!

02. SHERRI SHEPARD

We had the opportunity to see a live taping with Sherri Shepard at the Urban League. She filmed there to promote the new season of her talk show. I must admit that I didn’t realize that she had her own talk show. It was so cool to see her in real life because I grew up seeing her on TV (The Jaime Foxx Show and Less Than Perfect to name a few). I also didn’t realize how short she is! It was a great experience to hear her story and learn more about her why.

01. OCTOBER FAVORITES

A new season comes with a new scent. I absolutely love Arab fragrances. They typically have a vanilla base and longevity for reasonable prices. I’ve tried many scents from Al Rehab and they are all decadent. Choco musk was a perfume on my list and so glad I finally got my hands on them. It’s chocolate heaven. It reminds me of a mix between Kayali’s Vanilla and Billie Eilish’s perfume.

I love the shape of the perfume bottle of Good Girl which is why I’ve wanted to get my hands on it. The combination of the white floral and vanilla are the two notes that I smell the most that have me hooked! Between this and Choco Musk, I feel like I found my two scents for the season.
