#CURRENTLYCANCAN VOL 22

It’s been a minute, but we’re back! I can honestly say that I’ve missed writing these posts. The ability to go through all my hodge podge thoughts in one place every month is great because I’m always in my head. So, let’s get into what’s been through my head recently.

01. 30 DAYS OF AFRICAN PRINT

We did it, Joe! I can’t believe I actually executed this idea I’ve been sitting on for years. A massive shout out to Dorese for the long sessions and for keeping me laughing when my social battery started to run out. Will I do it again? Hells yeah! It was so much fun and definitely stretched me creatively. I enjoyed being able to come up with different occasions to wear African print and discovering new places to shop. I learned a lot about myself and lessons I’ll implement next time. I will reserve the next iteration for the fall/winter months to stretch my styling abilities.

02. OVERTURNING ROE

What a sad day in America. Supreme Court Judges, including two sexual assaulters, overturned Roe last month. These judges impacted the lives of over 165 million people who are capable of getting pregnant, most of which they will never encounter or even know to exist. While I knew it was coming, the realization still stung. I live in a state where abortion, and likely contraception, will be more challenging to find. All because they don’t like or care about womxn and think they know what’s best for womxn.

03. VOYAGE OHIO FEATURE

I had the pleasure of being featured in a VoyageOhio article. It was an honor to be featured, and I hope you get a chance to read it.

WHAT Y’ALL DID IN JULY?
