HOW TO DRESS FOR FALL WHEN IT’S STILL HOT OUTSIDE

I know that we still have a few more days until fall. But like most things around this time of year, while mentally I’m ready for cooler temps, less humid days, and all fall activities, it’s still really hot and humid outside to even think about those fall boots, jackets, and sweaters. So, today I’m sharing some tips for how to dress for fall when it’s still hot outside. 😩

WEAR FALL COLORS

Just because the weather isn’t cooperating doesn’t mean you can’t still dress for fall. The best way to do this is to wear fall colors. Think of the colors you see when the leaves start to change – yellows, oranges, browns, greens, reds, etc. I would suggest navigating towards the warmer, richer hues of those colors because they definitely scream fall.

OPT FOR DRESSES AND SKIRTS

I wear skirts and dress no matter what the temperature is. Since it’s still scorching outside, don’t put those dresses and skirts away. Dresses and skirts are perfect because they are breathable and great transition pieces for fall. I typically gravitate towards darker prints whenever I wear dresses and skirts around this time of year.

LIGHT LAYERS

While the leather jacket in this look is anything but light, adding light layers to your look is the perfect signal that you’re ready for fall. Items like cardigans and blazers are great additions to your look. When deciding the texture, I would opt for lightweight cardigans and linen blazers that fall into the fall color palette. That way, you are staying cool and fashionable.

OUTFIT DETAILS

Can we talk about these photos right quick? Because it’s giving “I’m a model” vibes. WHO DO I THINK I AM?! Things Dorese did? THAT. These photos are everything! So much so that I printed some to hang up around my apartment. Even though most people tend to gravitate toward more neutral colors, you will still find me in color. This crop top (previously worn here) is the punch the black and white palette needed. While I meant to pair this look with my Converse – I accidentally forgot to pack them for this shoot 🥴 – the Tevas with this look is growing on me.

It wasn’t until this shoot that I realized I could finally put my hair in a high side puff. Something that I’ve wanted to do for a while. However, I will say I rarely wear puffs these days, I probably could’ve done it a while before but haven’t tried until now. Idk why I’m always so shocked when I see my hair growing.
