HOW I AM REFRESHING MY WARDROBE THIS YEAR

It’s no secret that I’ve jumped back into the world of full-time entrepreneurship. This means being consistent with my budget and intentionally adding only needed items to my wardrobe. Also, this year, because I’ll be fully remote, I want to make sure that my wardrobe is more streamlined and reassess what I actually need besides what is just fluff. So, there are a few ways that I’m refreshing my wardrobe this year.

4 WAYS I’M REFRESHING MY WARDROBE THIS YEAR

ASSESSING MY CLOSET

One thing that gets lost in the rainbow closet is just how many clothes I have. It can be both a blessing and a curse. While I typically assess my closet every season, I feel the need to edit it even more this year because, as I’ve gotten older, I want to make sure that my clothes reflect my style. I define my style as bold, classic, and cutting edge. I want to make sure that all my clothes are aligned with that, so then when I find unique pieces to add, I already have a foundation to pair them with.

REORGANIZING IT IN A WAY THAT MAKES SENSE

Another way I’m refreshing my wardrobe is by reorganizing it in a way that makes sense. This means getting rid of things that I haven’t worn in two seasons, don’t fit anymore, or are not my style anymore. It also means organizing my space so that I can see everything I have instead of forgetting what I have because my closet is cluttered.

FOCUS ON MORE NEUTRALS AND BASICS

One thing that I’m always kicking myself is not having enough neutrals. Because I am a color girl at heart, I always get distracted by the colorful pieces that I like to add to my closet, forgetting that I need to also add neutral colors to not only balance the colors but have the foundational pieces so it doesn’t feel like I have nothing to wear.

WEARING WHAT’S AVAILABLE

Y’all. This is so hard sometimes because every time I see something on the internet, I’m like add to cart! Since I am dedicated to being consistent and wearing all that I have, this calls for tapping into my creative juices. Rewearing and restyling my clothes and only adding the things that are missing.
