DARK FLORAL SHIFT DRESS

Hey, y’all! Before fall officially got here, the weather actually felt like fall. I got really excited because I really love fall! And growing up in the south, there’s rarely a true fall. It’s literally hot, hot, hot, cold, warm, hot again. Once fall arrived, summer started to act real petty and just decided that it’s not gonna leave us alone.

Because summer’s living for being real petty, it’s really hard to shoot fall looks without losing 10 pounds from sweating (though I’m not complaining about losing weight). Take this look for example: if you look close enough (don’t though ?), you can see the beads of sweat dripping down my face and neck.

Getting back to this look. I LOVE this pair of sunnies! It’s the combination of the shape and the mirrored lens that just makes me feel so fancy. I also love the fact that it blocks my eyes and eyebrows so people can’t tell what I’m thinking when they are talking to me (I’m a face talker – my face says what my words do not)! I bought this pair from Francesa’s which surprised me because I rarely go in there.

A friend and I were having dinner at City Perch Kitchen and Bar in Pike and Rose and I was early (a rare occurrence). To kill time, I strolled into Francesa’s. They were having a sale where you could get two pairs of sunnies for $10! Obviously, I had to jump on that sale because I have a sunglasses problem. I definitely don’t regret that decision.

When preparing for this shoot, I literally threw this look together without thinking and wasn’t sure how it would look together. I always like to think through my outfit choices. I’m glad it put it together without thinking because I love the maroon and yellow together, especially for Fall.
