July has been the hottest month the earth has experienced since they began measuring in 1850. All I have to say to that is, Lord if you’re coming back soon, please say that so I can stop paying bills. Let’s get into the other things I’ve been getting into this month.

01. WE’RE PRACTICALLY FRIENDS

I got to see Issa Rae speak during Black Tech Week in Cincinnati. And it was everything. Her skin, her look, she is just everything you could imagine but better in person. She provided great knowledge for folks with a punch of her sense of humor. She even dropped an item in her skincare routine that I’m eyeing. Basically, she’s better in person, as if that could be a thing, than what you’ve seen of her on the internet.

02. KICKIN IT WITH FRIENDS

July became the month of hanging out with folks I don’t always get to see that often. It was so refreshing and energy boosting when you hang out with people in your community and I know that I need to be more intentional about doing that. Especially as we approach fall and winter I stay inside more often.

03. JULY FAVORITES

Y’all know I have a thing for crop tops. So, when I recovered this Target crop top for a great price, I just knew I had to get it. After buying the first one and loving the material’s quality and softness, I returned and bought a few more in other colors.

A flat power strip has been the perfect addition to my bedroom because it fits perfectly behind my dresser without creating a gap. I can have my dresser right next to the wall, which gives me extra sockets to plug all the things I need to be powered, and prevents anything from falling in that gap.

I have no idea how I’ve made it this far in my life and not know about these bra straps. It eliminates the need to buy additional bras by allowing you to maneuver your bra straps to work for you.

These box cutters are another item that I have no idea what I was doing before I bought them. I’ve been using a knife to cut open my boxes but have hurt myself many times. These box cutters are not only cute, but the knife is short and sharp enough to prevent me from cutting my hands trying to open boxes.
