WHERE WE STAYED IN TULUM

Hey, y’all! My friend and I went to Tulum for a quick vacation and it was heavenly (photo diary)! Because we didn’t want any fuss, we chose an all-inclusive resort where we didn’t have to think about anything. We chose to stay at Kore Tulum Retreat and Spa and it was so peaceful and stunningly beautiful. The photos do not do it justice.

We arrived in Cancun on Sunday and decided to go the route of using the shared SuperShuttle to get to our resort. It took us what felt like forever, approximately 2.5 hours because of the other people that we had to drop off before us. I know for next time that we go that we should rent a car. The ease of being able to get to and from the airport without worrying about figuring out how to get from point A to B is critical!

When we finally arrived at the resort, it was really dark outside but we didn’t worry about how beautiful it looked because we were starving! We had about 1 hour before the kitchen closed so we scurried up to our room, quickly changed, and headed to the dining room.

The room was incredible! It was big, spacious, and beautiful. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any pictures in the room or around the property because I was clearly more concerned about getting sun, eating, and drinking.

The next day, we decided that we would stay on the property to relax, enjoy the amenities on site, and just be lazy. However, looking back, I wish we would have gone to the beach because it was the only day that it was sunny all day. But even though we stayed at Kore Tulum all day, it was so relaxing.

We started out eating breakfast with exquisite views of the pool and the ocean. While the resort is next to the water, it’s not actually on a beach. The ocean hits rocks when it reaches land.

Everything we ate at the resort was fresh and delicious! I knew the food would be good but it exceeded my expectations. After breakfast, I made it out to the sand area near the pool where we had our choice of cabanas or lounge chairs to lay out and kick it. As soon as I found a spot, the waitress from the bar quickly came out to get our drink orders. I drank a lot of margaritas that day (and everyday that I was there).

Tuesday after breakfast, we decided to go to the beach. The great thing about staying at Kore Tulum is the free shuttle to take us to a beach club or the ability to use bikes (for free) to get around everywhere.

Our original goal was to go to the Chichen Itza but we didn’t realize that without our own car, it would be an all-day thing. So we opted to go to the Tulum ruins that were right next to the beach club.

Wednesday, the last day for Indira, we biked down to the city and took pictures. However, in the middle of taking pictures, the rain started. So we headed back to the hotel.

When we got back, the sun came back out and I spent the rest of the time at the pool reading and drinking. I left early Thursday so I didn’t get to do too much before I left.

It was a wonderful and relaxing trip that I needed from a stressful semester. I can’t wait to go back to Tulum, and hopefully Kore Tulum, and experience more things!

As always, thanks for stopping by!
