Hey,
This post contains affiliate links (read my disclaimer). Thanks for helping me adult!
Starting tomorrow, every day for the next 30 days, I’ll show you 30 different ways to wear African print for 30 different occasions. That sounds like a lot, and it is, but I’ve planned everything out and have taken most of the pictures already. I’m super excited about showcasing new places to shop for African prints and how easy it is to incorporate these prints into your everyday wardrobe. This means that all other content – natural hair, and anything in the lifestyle category- is suspended for the next 30 days.
Some of the items you’ve seen on the blog before are just styled in a new way. Other items are pieces that I’ve had in my closet and worn to events but not shared on the blog. There are also new pieces that I’ve added to my closet specifically for this project. One thing that was a happy surprise for me was to see how many African print items I actually owned before spending money. For anything that is sold out or not available, I do my best to find something similar for you.
African print can be expensive because of the tailoring that requires. Financially, I’ve been planning and budgeting for this project for a year. So, everything that was spent was planned for. While I did go slightly over budget, the majority of the costs were saved.
I bet you’re asking, Girl, why though? Because I’m reclaiming my lost time when I stopped wearing African print because I was teased when I was younger. Also, I understand that wearing African print can be very intimidating, especially if you don’t know where to buy and how to mix and match.
I’m super excited to get your thoughts about everything I post. In the meantime, follow along here and on Instagram and Tiktok with the #30daysAfricanPrint and #CanCandoesAfricanprint
