I could hear my mother say “why are you outside in the cold with your chest all exposed? That’s how you’re gonna get sick!” As I get older, I can hear my mother’s words come out of my mouth when I talk sometimes. I don’t mind it because it reminds me of my childhood. Also, my mom’s pretty funny so I don’t mind sounding like her…at times.
I completely forgot that I had this skirt. It was something I bought on the whim and wore it once before. I love the flounce of the skirt as well as the color. I was sold on the color because I love this particular hue of blue! I clearly learned my lesson from the previous two posts and put tights on and kept my jacket on.
I swear the entire time I was taking these pictures, I was thinking, “you can only blame yourself when you’re sick!” This was my inner self fully embracing my mother’s words from above. Lesson learned: check out the weather before going out to take pictures! Let’s hope the groundhog doesn’t see his shadow so we have an early Spring (one can only hope)!
Happy February! But most importantly, Happy Black History Month!
